Krin - Long Drum - Slit Drum

The Krin drum - also known as Kele or Kolokolo - is an African log drum originally from the Guinea Forest region. It was once used by initiates of the Soussou tribe for communication in the bush. Today, it can be found in ensembles performing at African village festivals.

It is played individually or in sets of three, standing or on the ground. It has two notes and brings melodic nuances to traditional polyrhythms.

Our Krin drums are crafted by Guinean or Malian artisans using traditional materials and skills.
