Code: 851996 Krin - Long Drum - Slit Drum
The Krin drum - also known as Kele or Kolokolo - is a West African log drum originally from the Guinea Forest region. Once used by initiates of the Soussou tribe for communication in the bush, today it can be found in ensembles that play at African village festivals. Played either solo or in a series of three, standing or on the ground, its two notes bring melodic nuances to traditional polyrhythms. Our Malian drums are crafted by Guinean or Malian artisans using traditional materials and skills.
