The Woodpack falls into the category of tongue drums. The tongue drum is one of the oldest known instruments in the world. Hundreds of years ago, it was a common part of African, Asian, and South American cultures. These drums were initially made from hollowed-out trees, but were not capable of producing more than two different musical notes.
The manufacturer's aim was to create an instrument with good intonation, beautiful and unique tone and tuning that is more pleasing to our ear - thus WoodPack was born.
