NCAS (DAN MOI) Jaw Harp in G2 tuning is delicately handcrafted. It is incredibly easy to play. The harp has a remarkable sound rich in overtones and an excellent price.
It stands out with its effortless playability, brilliant sound rich in overtones, and its price. It comes in a round bamboo case. We sell it in various tunings.
You can play the NCAS jaw harp slowly and fast - dynamically. Its sound resembles electronic music or analogue synthesizers. You can improvise thrillingly, play poignant melodies, and relaxing sounds.
All this is made possible by this small Vietnamese jaw harp.
It's our most popular pocket instrument.
By the way: ncas (pronounced "ncha"), as the H'mong people call their jaw harp, is traditionally made of brass in northern Vietnam. Among the H'mong, both men and women play this small instrument, which is used for festivities, relaxation, and courtship. With the melodies of ncas, entire stories can be told, and emotions can be particularly well expressed. Lovers make initial contact using dan moi, reveal their feelings, introduce themselves and their families, "talk" about their desires, and tease each other in lengthy musical dialogues. Fascinating how such a small instrument has such a large sound spectrum!
