You can play the Dan Moi drumla slowly and meditatively, as well as fast and dynamically. Its sound resembles electronic music or the sound of analog synthesizers, all without technology. Whether it's captivating improvisations, poignant melodies, or relaxing sounds, there are no limits to your creativity! And the small Dan Moi makes it possible. Playing this drumla is very simple.
Our absolute favorite instrument!
By the way: ncas (pronounced "ncha"), as the H'mong call their jaw harp, is traditionally made of brass in northern Vietnam. Among the H'mong, both men and women play this small instrument, which is used for celebrations, relaxation, and courtship. With the melodies of ncas, entire stories can be told and emotions can be particularly well expressed through music. Lovers initiate first contact using dan moi, reveal their feelings, introduce themselves and their families, "talk" about their desires, and tease each other in long musical dialogues. It's fascinating what a large sound spectrum such a small instrument has!
