Code: 035611 Drumble - Jew's Harps
The Dan Moi Drumla (Jew Harp) tuned to BASS C#2 is delicately handcrafted and captivates with its easy playability, brilliant sound rich in undertones, and price. The jaw harp is tucked away in a round bamboo case, which is wrapped in colorful fabrics. It is also available in various tunings.
On the Dan Moi drumla, you can play slowly and meditatively, but also fast and dynamically. Its sound resembles electronic music or the sound of analog synthesizers, all without technology. Whether it's riveting improvisations, touching melodies or relaxing sounds, there are no limits to your creativity! And the small Dan Moi makes it possible. Playing this drumla is very simple.
Our absolute favorite instrument!
By the way: ncas (pronounced "ncha"), as the H'mong people call their jaw harp, is traditionally made of brass in northern Vietnam. Among the H'mong, both men and women play the small instrument, which is used for ceremonies, relaxation and courting. With ncas melodies one can tell entire stories and particularly well set emotions to music. Lovers make first contact using the dan moi, reveal their feelings, introduce themselves and their families, "talk" about their desires and tease each other in long musical dialogues. It's fascinating what a wide range of sounds such a small instrument has!
