What material is the handpan made of?
Usually in this price range you will find only handpans made of nitrided steel, which have a shorter resonance than the stainless steel used in our handpan.
Moreover, our handpan is made of steel with a thickness of 1.2 mm and not 1mm as is common in this price category among competitors.
We didn't want to save money in the "wrong" place and compromise on sound quality.
How is our handpan made?
First, two mechanically pre-shaped half-shells in the shape of a wok are firmly joined. Then the tone fields are precisely hammered into the material by an experienced master. Once the "rough structure" is in place, the individual tones are carefully tuned. This process is the most time-consuming and requires the most experience and a keen ear. To protect the hand pan, a protective ring of high-quality robust rubber is placed around it.
Subsequently, the surface of the handpan is polished. We have each handpan recorded on video and we personally check the tuning of the instrument before shipping. Handpans are delivered to us in precise packaging so that their tuning does not change during transport.

Handling and care of the handpan
Despite the fact that a padded bag is included in the delivery, as with other musical instruments, we recommend that you handle the handpan carefully and play the handpan as it should be.
Realize that the handpan is not a drum to be strongly beaten but a delicate percussion instrument. We recommend avoiding playing like on African drums and strong palm strikes.
Furthermore, it does not hurt if you clean its surface every now and then with a soft cloth or treat it carefully with a little oil (e.g., Ballistol). And the rubber ring will appreciate occasional spraying with rubber care (e.g., silicone oil).
