The Slovak flute Koncovka is a unique folk musical instrument. Koncovka is the younger sister of the fujara and is made from elder wood. The natural growth of elder wood influences the sound and shape of the koncovka. The larger the koncovka, the deeper its tone.
The koncovka has a sound rich in undertones, it's pure and dreamy.
Height: approx 42cm
Tuning: G
The koncovka is played by blowing into it, allowing you to modulate tones with your breath pressure and improvise entirely intuitively, even without prior knowledge. By covering the bottom end, you can achieve an additional tonal range.
The koncovkas in our offer are of the highest quality and made by a traditional Slovak master in an old tradition. Each instrument is unique in its shape, some of them are lovingly engraved. The surface of the koncovka is treated with linseed oil. This emphasizes the naturalness of the elder wood of the koncovka and also protects it from moisture.
These koncovkas are beautiful in sound, shape, and craftsmanship.
This small koncovka is also suitable for short hands, so they are recommended for children as well. Small G-tuned koncovkas have a high clear sound and can be played quickly. Therefore, we also recommend them for those who would like to play along with drums.
It's small and highly portable.
Each koncovka is a handmade original, lovingly made so it may vary slightly from the photos.
