With its 9 tone fields and a pentatonic scale in D minor, it is ideal for beginners, but thanks to its pure and stable tuning, it can also be played on stage.
The central bass note (ding) is tuned to D3. And in the chorus around it, there are tones A3, C4, D4, F4, G4, A4, C5, D5.
Since 2009 we have been buying musical instruments from skilled craftsmen around the world. In early 2010, when handpans became increasingly popular, our partners started developing their first handpans, which got better and better each year.

Materials
Usually in this price range you will find almost only handpans made of nitrided steel, which has a much shorter resonance than stainless steel used in our handpan. We didn't want to save money in the "wrong" place and compromise on sound quality.
How is our handpan made?
Firstly, two mechanically pre-shaped wok-shaped half-shells are firmly connected. Then the tone fields are hammered into the material by experienced tools in precise craftsmanship. Once the "rough structure" is in place, the individual tones are carefully tuned. This process is the most time-consuming and requires the most experience and a keen ear. To protect the hand pan well, there is a protective ring of robust rubber around it. Finally, a protective cover is placed on top and wrapped around it a bag.
Who is Handpan Authentic intended for?
Our Handpan Authentic is certainly our recommendation for beginners. Here you get an easily playable musical instrument in scale or tuning, which is ideal for beginners with excellent price-performance ratio.
Pentatonic tuning is not only attractive for handpan novices, but also for all those who like to play intuitively and don't want to struggle with a certain sequence of notes or dissonant tones. You can enjoy the long reverberation relaxed and meditatively.
And those who like to take their pan to sit in the park or by the campfire may not want to carry an instrument worth several thousand dollars with them. Handpan Authentic is ideal for this purpose, as it not only sounds really good, but is also robustly built, cleanly tuned and rustproof.
In our opinion, it is certainly possible to play professionally with Handpan Authentic on stage, even though it is an inexpensive handpan and in direct comparison more than three times its price does not come close.
Handling and care of the handpan
Even though a protective cover and padded bag are included in the delivery, as with other musical instruments, we recommend handling the pan carefully. In addition, it doesn't hurt if you clean its surface every now and then with a soft cloth or gently treat it with a little oil (e.g., Ballistol). And the rubber ring will appreciate occasional spraying with rubber care (e.g., silicone oil).

Why is the pentatonic scale in D minor so suitable for beginners?
It is mainly the pentatonic scale that makes the start easier. This means that all notes go so well together that you can play them in any order without playing unpleasant (dissonant) notes. This is ideal for beginners and of course for everyone who doesn't want to think too much while playing, but rather wants to play intuitively.
